Fine Purveyors of Electro Ghetto Lounge

Minneapolis’s Athletes in Slacks have been recording and performing since 2000. In January of 2009, Brian’s brother, Colin, joined Athletes in Slacks for a show at the 400 Bar. The group reluctantly became a trio. Their music meanders through multiple genres, notably jazz, downtempo, rock, and choral arrangements.

The Athletes have been lucky enough to perform with musicians such as: Dosh, Beatrix*JAR, Nyteowl, Estate, Nobot, Anomie Belle (Seattle, WA) and French Horn Rebellion (Brooklyn, NY), to name but a few.

Athletes in Slacks will release their first album, The Moon or L.A., on Friday, July 24 at Clubhouse Jager in Minneapolis.

"Any group that calls themselves "fine purveyors of electro-ghetto-lounge" is cool in our book. With a sound that flips between sexy downtempo, smooth guitar-driven arrangements and what could possibly be construed as a really good "adult film" soundtrack; Athletes in Slacks serve up an unusually catchy cache that is sure to engage your ears." -- Kate Iverson, Arts & Entertaiment Editor, Secrets of the City (secretsofthecity.com)

"Steely Dan meets Lovage" -- El Jefe Delito (just a guy)
